CR-Report-2022-HeroCommScope has just released its 2022 Sustainability Report, and I want to share highlights of the great work we did in 2021 as we continue driving sustainability across our business.

Our 2022 Sustainability Report provides many details of the environmental, social, and governance initiatives and progress we made during the past year. In it, you’ll find many compelling facts and figures about CommScope’s corporate responsibility and sustainability. You can also see an interactive version and infographic for a more consolidated look at our progress.

2021 was a year of both exciting progress and business challenges for CommScope, including global supply chain constraints. Importantly, we remained focused on making progress in our sustainability strategy and objectives. We innovated more sustainable product designs, further decarbonized our operations, and prioritized diversity and community initiatives.

As you can read in more detail in our 2022 report, CommScope continues to reduce the environmental impact of its operations. We cut our greenhouse gas emissions by 15 percent and water withdrawal by 9.1 percent as measured against the 2019 baseline. Last year, we diverted 87.8 percent of non-hazardous waste from landfill, and 8.9 percent of purchased electricity originated from renewable sources.

In recognition of our efforts, we were again included in Newsweek’s list of “America’s Most Responsible Companies,” awarded first place for our Cultural Inclusivity Campaign during the D&I Summit Awards in India, and for the sixth year in a row, awarded “Gold Level” status by EcoVadis, a global leader in monitoring and benchmarking sustainability. We were also recognized by the Juarez City Government for social responsibility and our COVID-19 support efforts in Mexico.

We are excited about the growth of our Diversity & Inclusion Business Network (DIBN), which fosters a dynamic and inclusive workplace that embraces our diverse people and experiences. Membership is thriving, our global programming is expanding, and we consistently receive high engagement scores from our global employees.

We’re proud of CommScope’s significant standing in some of the world’s most vital and dynamic industries. We push ourselves and our thinking today for the purpose of creating a better and more sustainable tomorrow.
