CommScope, a leader in communications network infrastructure solutions, will host a four-city tour to discuss the strength of the data center market and the growth of the multi tenant data center (MTDC) industry. The “Expect More” Road Show will include speakers from CommScope, as well as research analyst partner IDC and data center providers Equinix and Finisar.
The cities on the tour include:
- San Francisco on Wednesday, November 2
- Ashburn, VA, on Thursday, November 10
- New York City on Tuesday, November 15
- Chicago on Thursday, November 17
“All over the world, operators are moving their data centers and networks into MTDCs for more flexibility, reliability and security,” said Ernie Pickens, senior vice president of Enterprise Solutions with CommScope. “By doing this, operators can remain focused on their business. At the same time, they relinquish a bit of control over their networks. To set their minds at ease, we’re bringing our expertise, as well as our trusted partners’ knowledge, to these cites to inform network operators how to manage their data centers in this ever-changing industry.”
The RoadShow is open to the public, but pre-registration is required. The event begins at 9 a.m. and will include a small trade show in the morning, breakfast and lunch. Several presentations from CommScope, IDC, Finisar and Equinix will focus on the following topics:
- Preparing for digital transformation: developing a data center vision in the age of cloud-based IT
- The impact of data center trends on the physical layer
- Industry view from a colocation provider
- Latest trends in data center optics
- On the road to terabit Ethernet
“The success or failure of an organization’s digital transformation efforts is tied to the effectiveness of its IT service delivery environments,” said Jennifer Cooke, research director for IDC’s Data Center Trends & Strategies team. “Developing a diversified data center vision that enables agility and reach is essential to support innovation and respond to change.”
On the topic of change, the Finisar team says the entire market is evolving and shifting, as network operators look to diversify their solutions and software.
“The data center market is changing dramatically and fiber optics technology continues to keep up with the ever-increasing demand for high bandwidth, lower power and longer reach. We are excited to participate with CommScope in presenting the current optical interconnect trends in this space and the numerous benefits provided by the latest technologies in our optical transceivers,” said Christian Urricariet, Senior Director of Marketing for Network Solutions at Finisar.
