CommScope is proud to announce it has been selected as a 2015 winner of the Communications Technology Company Award at the NC Tech Awards. Winners were recognized at the annual awards gala on Thursday, Nov. 12 at the Raleigh Convention Center. This year’s event was attended by more than 800 leaders from across the state.
CommScope won the award based on the strengths of its Optical PIM Tester, a handheld testing device for wireless network cell sites that identifies sources of passive intermodulation (PIM). The Optical PIM Tester enables a single technician to connect directly to the base band unit at the bottom of a cell tower and perform a truly active PIM test over the Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI). CommScope recently announced an upgrade to the Optical PIM Tester that makes it easier to find PIM caused by signal interaction between multiple frequency bands.
“CommScope is a global company in the business of delivering innovative solutions like the Optical PIM Tester to our network operator customers, but our legacy began and continues in North Carolina,” said Eddie Edwards, president and chief executive officer, CommScope. “We are headquartered here and have significant manufacturing operations here, which makes winning this NCTA award especially exciting.”
“Since 1995, the NC Tech Awards has honored excellence and innovation throughout North Carolina, representing the best and brightest,” said Brooks Raiford, president and CEO of North Carolina Technology Association. “As a winner, CommScope has distinguished itself as a peer-leader and we are proud to recognize them as a 2015 NC Tech Awards winner.”
The NC Tech Awards is North Carolina’s only statewide technology awards program, recognizing companies and individuals who have characterized excellence, innovation and leadership in 25 categories.
